I can't tell you how long I've wanted to do a web comic. I've had a variety of storyline plans and the like, but they never seem to get off the ground. Usual stuff gets in the way IRL, school, other art, etc. but this time I have determined that I WILL act on my current plan.
Said plan is to do a web comic set loosely in the online horse SIM game, Howrse. For those of you who are not familiar with the site, it is a browser-based pet game where you can raise, train, compete, and breed little digital horses. The site has expanded a lot since I started playing and has a number of sideline features, my favorite being the ability of players to submit "coats" to the game to be used by other players.
One of the common features of the game is to run an equestrian center where you or other players can board their horses. Being the RP nut that I am, I'm planning to have the comic set on my equestrian center and basically be the RP scenes I think about with regard to Howrse to begin with. It would be something of a "dreamscape" situation where randomness abounds and no one seems to notice. For example, my representative in this whole thing is my fursona, Eric, who is an anthropomorphic leopon, and my lead horse trainer is Rahkus, my circa 1690s Irish pirate. Why are they together working horses? How should I know, they just are. Why does anything happen in a web comic?
Anyway, my issue is getting started. I have a plan for the first story arch, but the art is getting in the way. It's one of those "where do I start?" issues that is most logically answered by the Nike standby of "just do it", but it is always harder to do than say. Input?
